Dear
Members of the Funk This Family,
Let's start this week's e-zine by taking a minute of online silence (don't
touch that mouse!) in honor of the late Rick James. We've
dug up his last interview on EURWEB, where he speaks on the state of music
and takes a few shots at the Purple One.
We are only a day away from the opening of the 2004
Summer Olympics yet CNN and BBC still tend to stray from
Olympic coverage by filling
their headlines with junk. Does anyone remember "What's Eating
Gilbert Grape"?
In a shocking announcement, our beloved Craigslist finally
decided to start charging New York employers for job postings, as it had
been doing for some time in the San Francisco area. At least we don't
have to pay for Missed Connections...
Reality TV Update: Are networks
run by monkeys these days? We must be reliving Planet of the Apes because
the Backstreet
Boys are using reality TV to find a bodyguard. Can you guess the name
of the show? At least Spanish networks are making it fun...they've got
a show where the grand prize is a green card!
Wrap
Party: We've had some of our best moments at our weekly
soiree at Fashion 40 Lounge during the last 6 months, but the time has
come to wrap
it up. This week, we are bringing along house music specialists Sergio
& Chris Asta, along with the funky grooves of DJ Xes, to help us celebrate
in style. No worries, however, as we will still be hosting our wild affairs
once in a while; in short, demand for our event planning services has
grown considerably over the summer.
-Best Damn News Bits, Period-
Let's
just be friends:
Ah, we've all heard it before, unless you've been extremely lucky in your
life. AskMen.com breaks down what
women want and how men fit into the picture.
Enjoy the
weekend,
