Dear Member of the Funk This Family, welcome to The Spot, a weekly e-zine published by Funk This Entertainment, Manhattan's premier event planning company.

You have probably noticed that Google is all over the news this week. It finally made its public debut today, seeing its shares rise by 17% in just a single day of trading. The bigger news splash has been made by the "controversial" Playboy interview of Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, in which they apparently reveal the truth about Google, including dating fellow tech geeks and being blocked by the Chinese government.

Speaking of splash, this man seems to be a natural in advertising:

In a stunt similar to the one comedian Jeff Beacher pulled at the MGM during last year's Billboard Awards, a brave fellow managed to dive into the pool during the Olympic Games wearing a tutu and a "chest ad" for an online casino. Great job security! 1.2 Billion well spent...

Costco, our favorite warehouse retailer, broke the news this week that it's expanding by introducing a brand new line of coffins. Yes, that's coffins not coffee. Way to go!

As a Soviet immigrant, I was quite honored upon discovering that Forbes just published their Top 100 List of Richest Russians. Keep your eyes out ladies.

Yankees Love Music: Have you ever wondered why Yankee players choose certain songs when they're about to bat? ESPN did some excellent research.

I Want to Write For You!: We are currently looking for columnists to add an edge to our weekly e-zine. If you are interested in developing your own column with us, please e-mail jobs@funkthisentertainment.com with your ideas.
