Welcome to The Spot, a weekly NYC e-zine published by Funk This Entertainment, Manhattan's premier event planning company.

In case you may have forgotten, Donald and The Apprentice crew return to NBC tonight (that's Thursday) for Round 2 of the series. The new management team over at Friendster found a smart way to co-brand by creating individual profiles for all the contestants. You can even request to be their friend...you don't say.

To no surprise, we've already received a huge response for our 2nd Annual Fall Loft Party, given that many of you were seen getting down with us a year ago at Daylight Studios. The musical lineup, headlined by our own DJs Xes & Co-op, promises to be eclectic and sonically stimulating. While we will not be distributing tickets for this event, everyone needs to RSVP to attend.

Celebrity Staged Reading of 110 Stories
September 10-11, The Public Theater

as seen in NY Newsday and E! Online

This is a wonderful opportunity to support the cause behind Leary's Firefighters Foundation while joining other New Yorkers and the brightest box office stars to honor the workers who dedicated themselves to the 9/11 recovery effort. The bill includes Benjamin Bratt, Edie Falco, James Gandolfini, Susan Sarandon and John Torturro.

If you are interested in attending the reading and/or VIP reception, please visit the event homepage.

Did You Know? The inedible Spam that clutters our personal and corporate mailboxes day in and day out costs U.S. corporations almost 9 billion dollars/year?

Shopping: Wind from Hurricane Frances is being sold on E-Bay in plastic containers. If the items are successfully auctioned off, we are banking on celebrity "winds" to be the next big thing. Entrepreneurs, the celebrityfarts.com domain is available. Hurry!

Last week, delegate Josh Kempf found a great way to paint the Republicans as the People of Compassion.

Jenna Jameson, who has found new fame with her best-selling adult book, apparently contributed to the design.

Idiot of the Week: A Philadelphia clerk accepted a $200 bill with President George W. Bush's face on it. Upon examination, she provided change for the customer. Authorities also found her brain at home.
